Busch Insurance agency was founded in 1981 as “Baker Insurance Agency, Inc.” by Lee Baker. After leaving a 20 year career with Rural Mutual, he and his wife owned and operated Baker Insurance Agency, Inc. at 55 E Main St. in Platteville, Wisconsin. In 1993, Lee asked his client Terry Busch, a promising college student, if he wanted to join him in the insurance business. After much deliberation, Terry decided to give insurance a try. He worked at the agency part time until his graduation in 1994 when he joined the company as a full time agent.
In 1995, Baker Insurance outgrew their office at 55 E Main and moved to 50 Pioneer Rd. in Platteville. Terry introduced the first computer system to the agency that same year. After several years of work together, Terry purchased the agency from Lee on January 1st, 2001. The agency changed it’s name to “Busch Insurance Agency, Inc.” in 2004.
After many years of growth, the agency once again outgrew its space and moved on December 15th, 2012 to its current location at 147 Keystone Parkway in Platteville. Along the way the agency has gained many valued longstanding employees, customers, and company relationships. The agency has become fully automated with the latest technology while maintaining its focus on providing the highest customer service possible; every call that comes into the agency is answered by a person and not a machine.
Busch Insurance serves clients in Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois. They have been a member of the Platteville Chamber of Commerce since 2001. Busch Insurance is very active in the community and gives generously to many local charities and organizations.
